What is hypnotherapy?
Think of hypnotherapy as mind massage. It gives you the opportunity to relax, while fully awake and listen to powerful, soothing messages that unlock the potential of your subconscious mind to re-programme your mind positively. Solution Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) is a combination of Clinical Hypnotherapy and the best practices of various schools of Psychotherapy. In particular we use skills from Neurolinguistic Programming (NLP) and Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT). This combined approach means that we can help you to quickly make positive changes in your life. The benefits can be quite transformative producing lasting empowering results.
Solution Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) is always forward looking and aims to utilise your existing strengths and resources to enable you to make positive changes in your thoughts, feelings, actions and habitual behaviours. In every way, you are empowered to have more control of your life.
Each session lasts between 40 minutes to 1 hour and consists of a positively led discussion followed by relaxing trance. Think of trance as looking into an open fire; your brain is relaxed and not focused on any particular single thought. We naturally go in and out of trance several times a day, while cooking, driving, waiting for a bus, watching TV etc. We do it all the time yet is is a largely untapped powerful means of accessing and reprogramming our sub-conscious mind. This is when we can embed new, beneficial suggestions which can be interpreted to bring about positive changes in your thoughts, feelings, actions and behaviours. Trance is an incredibly relaxing and enjoyable experience, which is why I call it mind massage.
